We ordered five units of this tee — black in S, M and XXL, plus white and apricot in M — through our agent, logged the checkout price on 29 September 2026 at $8.36 per unit against a $9.85 comparison price, and opened the parcel on camera at our Rotterdam bench. The item reached the agent's warehouse in 2 days and the second parcel landed 22 days later, so 24 days from payment to doorstep.
What arrived is a plain-cut cotton tee with a large screen-printed panel on the chest. What did not arrive is any hangtag, woven label or packaging that ties it to Rhude. That matters, because the listing's own specification sheet lists the brand field as house brand — the retailer's own wording, not ours — while the catalog title carries the Rhude name. Our review therefore grades the garment we were sent on its own terms.
Listed claims against our measurements
| Specification | Listing | Our bench |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | 100% cotton, 240 g | 100% cotton; 236 g total garment weight in M, consistent with a 240 g/m² body |
| Chest, flat | Not listed | 56 cm pit to pit (M) |
| Body length | Not listed | 70.5 cm (M) |
| Shoulder | Not listed | 51.5 cm (M) |
| Sleeve | Short | 21 cm from shoulder seam |
| Print panel | "Advertising logo", "geometric pattern" | 23.5 × 17 cm, screen print, ink edge clean to within 1 mm |
| Colourways | Black, white, apricot | All three received; apricot reads as pale sand under daylight |
| Warehouse weight | 0.00 kg | Resolved by our scale — the blank field is a data gap, not a shipping fact |
The 240 g claim survives contact with a postal scale, which is more than we expected at this price. The fabric has a dry, slightly stiff hand out of the bag and a visible loop structure on the inside; it is not the brushed, broken-in cotton the retail version is described with in teardown reviews. The listing also claims suitability across all four seasons. At this weight, summer is a stretch in direct sun and winter requires a layer, so treat the season field as marketing rather than specification.
The chest graphic is the whole product
Every other element here is generic: a ribbed crew neck, a straight hem, no side seams worth noting. The print is the only thing that distinguishes the tee, so that is where we spent the measurement time. Across the three colourways the registration held: the panel sat centred within 5 mm on all five units, the ink had no visible pinholes at 10× magnification, and the edge definition was sharper on the white and apricot bodies than on the black, where a thin ink halo appeared along one border.
Two cautions belong here. First, the listing describes the pattern twice and differently — advertising logo in one field, geometric in another — and the photographs are the only reliable description of what you receive. Second, a graphic this size on a 240 g cotton body will feel stiff across the chest for the first two or three wears.
Fit across the size ladder
Retail listings for Rhude tees describe a boxy cut that fits true to size; community discussion of the brand's tops leans toward sizing down. Our units sit closer to the second camp but not by a full size. The M measures 56 cm across the chest — roughly 4 cm wider than a standard M in comparable cotton tees — while the 70.5 cm length is short relative to that width. That combination is what produces the boxy look without a tent effect. The S ran 52 cm across and the XXL 60 cm, so the grading is consistent rather than a one-off.
If you normally buy a fitted M, order S. If you want the silhouette in the listing photographs, take your usual size. The listing gives no measurement table at all, so ask the agent for flat measurements in the warehouse photographs before you approve export — that is the cheapest size check available to you.
The second price tag
The $8.36 sticker is not what this tee costs to own. Our landed ledger for a single unit to the Netherlands, using 2026 air rates of ¥137 for the first 0.5 kg plus ¥43 per additional 0.5 kg:
| Line | Single tee | Four tees consolidated |
|---|---|---|
| Goods | €7.20 | €28.80 |
| Agent fee (5%) | €0.36 | €1.44 |
| Domestic shipping to warehouse | €0.65 | €0.90 |
| International air, chargeable weight | €16.00 (0.5 kg) | €26.00 (1.5 kg) |
| Dutch VAT at 21% | €4.85 | €11.80 |
| Approximate total | €29 | €69, or €17 per tee |
The freight line is more than twice the item price, and a parcel billed at a 0.5 kg minimum pays for air it never uses. Since the EU removed its duty-free threshold in July 2026, VAT and any duty are now part of every calculation, and rates move — treat these figures as the shape of the cost, not a quote. The practical conclusion: this is a consolidation purchase. Four tees cost 40% less per unit than one.
One wash, then the bench again
We washed the apricot M inside out at 30 °C, line dried it, and re-measured. Length moved 1 cm, chest 0.5 cm. The print showed surface softening at the edges but no cracking or lifting, and the black unit's ink halo did not spread. One wash is not a durability verdict, and the retail comparison is not flattering either way: teardown-style reviews of the $380–400 Rhude tee call the construction durable while questioning the price. At €29 landed, the same question answers itself.
Where that leaves the score
Our 4.0 reflects a garment that delivers its fabric weight, a clean print and a coherent cut at a price where most listings fail on all three, held back by missing measurements, a mislabelled brand field and a landed cost that only makes sense in a group order. The unverified part is longevity. No source we found has reviewed this listing, so what happens to the print at wash twenty is genuinely unknown, and we will re-check it at the nine-month retest.
What works
- Weight claim holds: 236 g in M, consistent with 240 g/m²
- Print panel centred within 5 mm across all five units
- Consistent grading from S to XXL, with a real boxy silhouette
Watch-outs
- Brand field reads house brand, so no label ties it to Rhude
- No measurement table; the M chest runs about 4 cm wide
- Single-unit freight to the EU pushes landed cost past €29
